My Favorite Hobby is Collecting Purses

When I was in college, I dreaded carrying a purse. I was convinced I would set it down somewhere, forget about it, and lose everything I owned. Well, the opposite happened. Because I didn’t have a cute little purse, I lost an expensive pair of sunglasses my sister gave me in an IHOP. I’ve never lost my phone, but I have caused many scratches and dents by slamming multiple cards and IDs into my phone case and keeping my phone in my back pocket while I sit on any elevated surface I could find. But, with age comes responsibility and after graduation, I started to match a purse with every outfit.
Because I don’t wear the same color scheme every day like a cartoon character, I have bought a lot of purses in a lot of different colors. As I started gathering more and more purses, I realized that I am a collector. Like most women, I tend to be ashamed of my hobbies if I am not excelling in them and it’s even more embarrassing to admit that one of my favorite hobbies is shopping. But, if people can collect little coins and trinkets, I can certainly collect purses and be proud of my curated items.
I try to keep within budget as much as possible and shop in places like Marshalls or TJ Maxx to find purses at a low price. I never spend more than $40.00 on a bag from these stores, but there are plenty of higher-end and more expensive designer purses to choose from. If I am purchasing a more expensive purse, I go straight to the Betsey Johnson website and order one of her unique crossbody, shoulder, or tote bags. Depop, eBay, and other online second-hand sites always have vintage purses, but you need to be aware of wear and tear and make sure you know what you’re getting.
Please see below for the collage I made of all my MVPs (most valuable purses) that turned out to look like some sort of shrine:
